Which jobs deserve
a closer look?

This is an example of the screening in a GroundsBrief report. It uses a real council notice and an illustrative contractor profile. It is not a paid customer report or a complete list of available work.

Example choices

Grass cutting and general grounds maintenance · Surrey · maximum estimated total contract value £50,000 excluding VAT.

The three official notice records were rechecked 10 October 2026, 11:27 BST (10:27 UTC), with no later releases returned. Chobham's listed six-page maintenance specification was reviewed in full today. Other attachments have not been reviewed.

The value covers the stated contract period. It is not annual income or a guaranteed award.

Why it could fit — and what could rule it out

The work includes mowing and strimming, but also litter and debris removal, hedge and weed work, leaf clearance and grave levelling. A mowing-only company needs to check those additional duties before investing in a bid.

The specification requires public-grounds maintenance experience, at least two references and a copy of current Public Liability insurance. Being interested in Surrey work does not establish that your company meets those requirements.

How the council will score a bid

Specification page 1. The worksite is reached off Chobham High Street between numbers 53 and 57, GU24 8AF (page 6). The bid delivery address below is a different location.

Email bids will not be accepted

The notice requires a sealed envelope delivered by hand or post to the Parish Office, Parish Pavilion, Chobham Recreation Ground, Station Road, Chobham, GU24 8AJ. Mark it “Burial Ground Maintenance Contract”. Allow enough time for arrival before the deadline.

Clarify the workload before pricing it

The notice says weekly extension-area mowing in April–September; specification pages 3–4 say six cuts in those months, with additional upkeep as needed. Page 4 also says that if new burials begin in the extension, it must be maintained to the established area's standard. Ask the council to confirm the required frequency, that potential increase in work and the pricing basis.

The notice's dates run to 31 December 2029; the specification describes three years and a £26,000–£36,000 guide without an explicit VAT basis. Confirm the duration and budget basis. Specific boundary-clipping exceptions in page 4 also need reconciling with the general immediate-removal instruction on page 5.

What this profile rules out

Stanwick grounds maintenance

£100,000 estimated total, in Northamptonshire. It falls outside this Surrey profile and the £50,000 value choice. Its scope also includes grave digging and interments.

Official notice 095476-2026 ↗

Old Basing and Lychpit grounds maintenance

£531,000 estimated total, in Hampshire. It is outside both the area and size choices. Dividing a multi-year total into yearly amounts would give the wrong result for this filter.

How to use this report

Decide whether the whole service could suit your company. If so, read the current official notice, amendments and tender documents, resolve the highlighted questions with the council, and prepare any bid yourself.

This example reviews known notices and Chobham's listed specification. The completed updated-record scan excludes older unchanged notices and is not complete current-market coverage, so it does not establish how many other Surrey opportunities exist. An unchanged job in a second report is labelled as unchanged.

The same public notices are available through free official search and alerts and specialist free indexes. GroundsBrief's optional paid work is the review against your choices, with submission constraints, exclusions and unknowns made clear. Only pay if that review is useful to you.
